Almost In Hollywood!

Okay. Everything's coming together! We had our first full rehearsal with the new band. I'd never heard us all play together. It was wonderful. I'm so excited. One of my best friends, Carrie, took me shopping for an outfit. The ukelele has new strings which I am working on breaking in. I love this band. I love this show. I can't wait. Hello Hollywood!

Calling All Friends and Fans to Hollywood, March 21st!

I've been performing in San Francisco with a Jazz band for six years. That was my first love and my dream. There is more to me now. I love country, rock, rockabilly, blues, contemporary, and all around hip stuff, too. We are putting a new band together that encompasses all of it. We are having two full rehearsals and heading down to play two firsts: my first show in Hollywood and my first show with this band! My producer's going to be there! I need help on this one, folks! If you know anyone in LA, please give 'em a call and ask them to come by.

My Fan Page and My Fans

David Rostie has taken the initiative of making me a fan page. We have become friends. Thank you to him and his brother for everything! I'm gonna start responding to people on it. There are a lot of song ideas and invitations to play at peoples' venues. Count me in! There was also a message from a man who recently went blind telling me I had helped him in some way and to keep doing what I'm doing. I'm going to write him a long reply. My father was made legally blind in the Viet Nam war. It ruined one of his eyes and gave him 20/300 vision. He has struggled his whole life with it.

2 NEW SONGS!

I have two of the best songs I've written on the way and I can't wait to share them! Being sick the last few days has left me drained, but I'm gearing up to bring it! After I take a nap...

Keep On Pushing

I've been singing with my Jazz band for six years. Old Jazz was my first love. I'd like to make a jazz album a little later, but my instincts are telling me to break out and do all the kinds of music that are locked inside. My first show in LA is March 21st at the Hotel Cafe La at 8pm! The set I'm putting together should represent me fully. There are original tunes I haven't played in years that I can't wait to pull out. New Songs that never made it out in the Jazz band will escape! Just the thought of it makes me excited about life and the direction I'm going.

The End of the Idol Road

I may have been booted off the island, but I had a blast going for it! I'm grateful for the experience. This crazy ride helped me get over the loss of my home. There were some really great people down in Hollywood that I have made lasting friendships with. Once again I am pumped about making music. The details for two very different albums are getting worked out! Life is about stepping out on that limb and deciding to be fearless in the pursuit of happiness. I have no regrets. Thank you everybody!

Ocean of awesome messages

Wow! This response from the show has put a strong new hope in my heart. So many people are struggling now. If you want to call it life experience, then let's say I've had a plateful. I hope everybody that's has also been struggling hangs on to hope and finds a little happiness everyday. There's is a lot of love in my heart. I've got a piece for the whole world!

I'm on American Idol!

I just want to say it's been really exciting to see the cyber wave hit me like that. I'm not great with computers, but I'm putting in all the effort I have to keep up. It was devastating losing my house. This audition was the adventure I needed to get pumped up about life and the road I chose. Thank you everyone! I have a lot of original tunes and ideas for albums. I will talk about more and more. Off to Twitter and Facebook!

Chris Isaak

Hi there. I recently submitted a demo to a great record company. My fingers are still crossed. When i went to pick up what i had recorded with my swell friend, Phil Milner, Chris Isaak happened to be stopping by to pick something up (I was at Haight Ashbury Music Center). He heard my demo playing and said he liked my voice! The other point of advice he was strong on was, "have a good voice and good song or go home." This man looks pretty on TV, but looks manly amazing in real life. That was a very encouraging thing to happen the day i turn a demo in. What a great man.

Tim Hockenberry

This weekend I had two wonderful consecutive shows. They were wonderful for different reasons. The first had a boiled down version of older players. They made me proud. The second show introduced our new piano player, Grant Levin. He is now my favorite with a sound that would make Hoagy Carmichael smile. We'd been banging our head for sometime with the band. Going in heartbroken circles. I had lost my love for it. I have new found hope. Hello piano! What really did it for me was each player there this weekend had a lot of heart for what we're doing.
